A settlement has been reached with Dairy Farmers of America, Inc. (“DFA” or “Defendant”) in a class action lawsuit. This case is about a data security incident at DFA in June 2025 (“Data Incident”). Certain files with private information may have been accessed by an unauthorized third party. These files may have contained personal information such as information that identifies an individual or that in combination with other information can be used to identify, locate, or contact an individual.
The lawsuit is called Jason Buhl v. Dairy Farmers of America, Inc., Case No. WY-2026-CV-000143. It is pending in the District Court of Wyandotte County, Kansas (“Litigation”). DFA denies that it did anything wrong, and the Court has not decided who is right. The parties have agreed to settle the lawsuit (the “Settlement”) to avoid the costs and risks, disruptions, and uncertainties of continuing the Litigation.
